One of his favorite memories of being a student is: "Competing at the state level in cross country all four years of high school and qualifying for the NCAA championships twice in college, along with the academic milestone of moving from direct instruction in reading/ELA to regular education classes during my sophomore year of high school." 🏃

✨ WORLD AUTISM ACCEPTANCE DAY: Yesterday, we celebrated the beauty of neurodiversity, recognizing the strengths, challenges, and incredible contributions of people with autism. By wearing tie-dye, we showed our support and commitment to inclusivity. It’s all about spreading understanding, kindness, and acceptance for everyone, regardless of how they experience the world.
Whether through different ways of thinking, communicating, or connecting with others, each person with autism brings something special and unique ❤.

💰 CURRENCY OF CULTURE: Hampden Elementary School's ELD students in Mrs. Banks' class took the class on a global tour! They shared money from their home countries and used their language skills to tell everyone all about the coins, bills, and their values. It was an exciting day celebrating diversity with currency from seven different countries: Nepal, India, Vietnam, Korea, Puerto Rico, Japan, and Mexico 🌏




❤ CHAMPS BEHIND THE SCENES: The countdown is on – in just TWO WEEKS, our Olympians will take over Chapman Field for our districtwide Special Olympics! 🏅 Today, a fantastic group of volunteers came together to pack gift bags, create signs, and prepare awards, all to make this day even more special for our amazing student-athletes and their buddies. Let’s give a huge shout-out to these volunteers for their dedication and hard work. 🙌
We’re beyond excited to welcome our student-athletes for a day filled with fun, competition, and lasting friendships. 🤞 Fingers crossed for sunny skies and no rain so our athletes won't have to delay their Olympic debuts 🦅








📖 VENDING A GOOD READ: Monroe Elementary School unveiled its brand-new Book Vending Machine at their Portrait of an Eagle Adaptability Assembly! Students can earn tokens through Portrait of an Eagle Certificates for the rest of the year, with even more fun additions planned for 2025-2026, including Birthday Books! 🎂

🎶 PERFECT HARMONY: To celebrate Music in Our Schools Month, fifth-grade students from Winding Creek Elementary School delivered a fantastic performance at the Board meeting on Monday, March 17. Led by Ms. Hollenberg and Ms. Snyder, their voices filled the room with joyful harmony!
