📸 NATURE THROUGH THE LENS: Mr. Bollinger’s Photography students at CVHS are stepping into nature through an exciting new partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Their mission is to capture the beauty of Pennsylvania’s state forests and parks, with standout photos potentially featured on DCNR websites, social media, and more.

DCNR representatives Jeff Woleslagle, Jason Hall, and Ryan Reed recently visited the class to kick off the collaboration and share what’s ahead. With a possible spring field trip to Tuscarora State Park on the horizon, students are already exploring local forests and parks, sharpening their skills, and finding inspiration in the great outdoors. 🌿

🥰 WRAPPED IN KINDNESS: We had a great time celebrating the 11th Annual Shop with a Cop, hosted by Silver Spring Township Police Department. Students started the day with a delicious breakfast from the New Kingstown Fire Co. before heading out to shop for the holidays 🎁

🚓 Students headed to Walmart Mechanicsburg with a law enforcement escort, where they shopped for gifts for themselves and their families alongside local officers who didn’t just help them shop—they shared laughs, conversations, and moments that made the experience unforgettable. After shopping, volunteers helped students wrap gifts, and then everyone enjoyed lunch provided by Chick-fil-A Mechanicsburg.

Thank you to the local police departments, fire companies, businesses, and volunteers who continue to support this event year after year. Your time and commitment help make this experience possible for our students. ❤

🤝 EAGLES UNITED IN LEADERSHIP: Winding Creek Elementary School House Leaders recently teamed up with their peers from Middlesex Elementary School for an inspiring day of collaboration, connection, and growth.

Students jumped into hands-on challenges like The Amazing Handshake, Two and a Crayon, Squiggle Birds, Cheer Pins, and Question Cards. These activities helped strengthen our Portrait of an Eagle competencies, including confidence, problem-solving, adaptability, empathy, communication, and critical thinking.

What made the day truly special was the way both groups came together with open minds and big enthusiasm. They shared ideas, compared experiences, and learned new leadership strategies from peers in another building who share the same commitment to growing as leaders.

This experience not only boosted their skills but also highlighted the powerful impact student leaders have on their school communities. 🦅

When young leaders connect and lift each other up, everyone rises. ❤

🤩 JUST IN TIME: The 67th (insert hand gesture) day of school was last week before Thanksgiving break, and of course, everyone was having some 6-7 fun (insert hand gesture).

Now the calendar basically said, "count on me," and hit us with the December 6-7 (insert hand gesture) combo for this weekend. Honestly, this weekend is already looking 6/7 stars (insert hand gesture). ⭐

It's like the universe is telling us to hit that 6-7 (insert hand gesture) again, because when the dates line up this perfectly, you've got to bring all of the 6-7 (insert hand gesture) energy. 😆

Have a great weekend, Eagles! 🦅
