Cumberland Valley High School is officially preparing to bring the magic of Arendelle to life for this year's musical production Frozen.
Following the major stage success of previous years, the choice to take on another popular and loved musical was to unite the school and the surrounding community.
“Producing Disney’s Frozen offers a powerful opportunity for our school to bring the community together through a story that transcends generations. It provides a massive, inclusive platform for student collaboration! We will be uniting actors, musicians, artists, and technical crews to build a magical, wintry world on stage!” Mrs. Schramm said.
Staging a show as famous as Frozen comes with a lot of audience expectations, especially when it comes to recreating all of the iconic special effect scenes. When asked how the production team plans to handle the challenge of creating believable ice and snow on stage, Mrs. Schramm decided to keep their secrets guarded to preserve the illusion.
“We can’t give away our secrets because we don’t want to ruin the magic, but we have a lot of exciting things in the works!”
Behind the scenes, the musical takes a ton of hard work, but the crew is ready for it.
“We are truly excited about every aspect of the production. The CV Musical is a labor of love for our students and production staff that always pays off in the most beautiful way”. Mrs. Schramm said.
With auditions currently taking place, the team is excited to welcome anyone who wants to join. They aren’t just looking for super talented kids; they want students who are nice, hard-working, and good teammates.
“We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated group of students. We will look for talented performers who are also collaborative, kind, willing to take creative risks, and excited to support their castmates. If you have a positive attitude, a passion for storytelling, and a desire to be part of a close-knit family, we want to see you at auditions!” Mrs Schramm said.
At the end of the day, Frozen is all about family and being yourself. The directors hope everyone who comes to watch leaves feeling inspired and happy.
“More than anything, we hope the audience leaves feeling a profound sense of joy,
self-acceptance, and connection. We want them to feel the thrilling release of "letting go" of expectations, the warmth of unconditional love, and the deep reminder that true strength lies in embracing exactly who you are”.
