Everyone has that one teacher who makes a difference, the one who doesn’t just teach lessons from a textbook, but lessons that stick with you for life. Whether it’s pushing you to do better, believing in you when you didn’t believe in yourself, or simply being there during a tough time, some teachers leave a mark that goes far beyond the classroom.
CV9 teacher Delaney Bitner makes an impact on many students' lives, specifically high school student Junior Witters.Witters said how motivating Mrs. Bitner had been towards him, especially when he struggled with things such as assignments, to simply being there for when he needed to talk.
“Mrs. Bitner constantly encouraged me to keep trying in and out of the classroom, even when I might want to give up or not try,” Junior said.
Mrs. Bitner helps students in various ways without even realizing it. She makes such a positive impact on students' lives. One thing she never lets herself forget is that people come first.
“As a teacher, I would say that I try to always remember that my students are humans first, and students in my classroom second,” Bitner said.
Mrs. Bitner constantly reminds herself and expresses how her students are people with feelings and lives outside of academics. This helps Mrs. Bitner treat her students with kindness and respect.
Every school year is a new beginning for teachers and students to have and make that special bond. Teachers constantly make impacts on students' lives, whether they try to or not. They are constantly leaving marks that go far beyond the classroom, helping to shape students' futures. These things will be carried with students forever and will continue to help shape them into better human beings.
