Former Cumberland Valley standout Gavin Kendrick is making waves at Frostburg State University, where he’s continuing his football journey at the Division II level.

Known for his tenacity on the field during his high school days, Kendrick is proving that hard work and dedication pay off beyond the Valley. Kendrick, who played outside linebacker during his time at CV, has continued his mastery of the position at the collegiate level. As a freshman, Kendrick is a backup linebacker and a starting kickoff specialist.

“The hardest transition from high school to college is the speed of play from everyone on the field. It's just a way faster tempo everywhere,” said Kendrick.

Going from the high school level to the college level is not easy and it takes time to adjust to the speed of play. However, Kendrick has been able to adapt to and learn in his new environment.

With a 4-0 record to start the year, Frostburg looks to be a dominant group in 2025.But despite the success, Kendrick’s favorite part about the team is how close all the guys are.

“My most memorable moment so far was just our team’s pool day at the end of camp. It was a lot of fun after a long camp.”
