Cumberland Valley will look to defend Chapman Field in its home opener Friday, Sept. 5, when the Eagles (1–1) host Altoona (0–1) in a matchup that pits CV’s chance to climb above .500 against the Mountain Lions’ hunt for their first win.
Adding to the excitement of the first game under the lights, Cumberland Valley seniors will have their annual senior slip-and-slide tradition before kickoff, setting the tone for the student section as the Eagles look to seize momentum at home.
One of the key players in this game is four-star Notre Dame commit Tyler Merril. Merril is looking to help bring the eagles to another win and keep the streak going.
“Some key factors on winning this week at home are staying disciplined up front, on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, taking what Altoona gives us and making plays on the ball should lead us to success on Friday night,” Merril said.
