CV Baseball is stepping up its game this fall playing in brand-new baseball league, giving prospective players from grades 9 through 12 extra chances to play, get noticed, and prepare for the spring season. Kicking off at the Keystone Facility in Newville, the league features two randomly selected teams coached by head baseball coach Coach Kyle Wagner, promising fresh competition and more opportunities for all baseball athletes.

During this fall season, not only will the players be given playing opportunities, but coaching opportunities as well.

“We’re going to coach game action in the dugout and allow the upperclassmen to coach the bases,” Wagner said.

Wagner believes that in doing this, players will be able to talk about the game during it and not have to wait until after. He wants to see how the players actually play, interact, and view the game. He wants to see who has the drive and determination to be such a great and successful player.

“I’m looking to find out who our ‘gamers’ are. Who are the players, regardless of class, that thrive on competition,” Wagner said.

When it is time for the spring season, Wagner hopes that the hard work the athletes put in the fall season carries over. It doesn’t matter if they are freshman, sophomores, juniors, or seniors, he’s focused on finding those who are willing to change to be better and stay focused during challenges throughout games. Coach Wagner hopes to build a strong and competitive team of players who take it to the next level on the field.
