Kindergarten Students

We are pleased to welcome you to the Cumberland Valley School District. As parents of kindergarten students, you may have questions regarding the transportation of your student to and from school/daycare. We hope that these questions are addressed here and that you and your student can look forward to a safe and pleasant ride.

Kindergarten class assignments are based upon the student’s pick-up location.

If your student will be picked up or dropped off at a location other than the home, you must complete the ‘Child Care Notification Request’ form, found on the left-hand menu.

Notifications must be received by May 15th to ensure the correct class and bus assignments.

All bus stops and daycare facilities must be located within your student’s school attendance area.

Transportation will not be provided outside of that area. If you are unsure of the attendance area, please use the attendance area verification tool here or contact us at 717-506-3317.

Students are assigned one (1) am and one (1) pm stop. These can be different from each other but must be consistent five (5) days per week.

A parent/guardian must be present at the bus stop to receive their kindergarten student at the end of the school day. If the parent/guardian is not present at the bus stop, your student will be returned to their school for parent pickup.

Please have a backup plan in place in case of emergencies in the event an unscheduled early dismissal occurs.

Kindergarten bus schedules will be available at Kindergarten Orientation which is held in August at each elementary school.
