Automatic fire alarm

Dear Sporting Hill families:

Please be advised that at approximately 12:00 p.m. today, August 22, 2019, an automatic fire alarm sounded at Sporting Hill Elementary School. Students and staff were immediately and safely evacuated and emergency personnel arrived on scene to investigate. It was determined that a heat detector located near the oven exhaust in the kitchen inadvertently tripped the alarm. There was no cause for concern. Students and staff were safely returned to the building after given an all-clear by the fire department.
