Tomorrow is the day!

We at Shaull are so excited to see everyone for the first day of the 2019-2020 School Year!

Please read through the tips below to help make this upcoming week a smooth transition back to school.  Thank you!

Transportation

Please review with your child/children how they are getting home from school so there is not uncertainty at the end of the day.  If there are ever any changes from their normal schedule, please send a handwritten note in your child's school bag for the teacher.  Please keep in mind that buses will likely be later than normal for the first few weeks while we ensure that each student gets on the correct bus each day.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up

If you choose to drop off your child/children at school please follow these procedures:

  • Drop-off in the morning, for students not riding the bus, begins promptly at 8:30am.  If arriving at school any earlier than 8:30am, you will be instructed to park your car in the side parking lot and walk your child to the lobby.  A PARENT MUST STAY WITH A CHILD IN THE LOBBY UNTIL 8:30am WHEN DROP-OFF BEGINS.  THERE WILL BE NO ADULTS TO WATCH YOUR CHILD.

~Cars must remain in line along the curb in the driveway.
  • ~If first in line, pull all the way up to the crosswalk and have child exit the car on the passenger side.
  • ~Adults must stay in the car.
  • ~Students exit on the passenger side only and begin to walk on the sidewalk into the school.
  • ~Follow the car in front of your car as you drive slowly along the curb.

If you choose to pick up your child/children at school please remember you will need to park in the parking lot (front or side) and walk into the school office to sign your child/children out.  You will be required to show ID and we will need to scan it if necessary.  You will then wait in the lobby until dismissal.  Dismissal is at 3:35pm, please come at least 10-20 minutes prior to dismissal to do the sign out.

Skyward

It is very important that you update phone numbers and email addresses and provide us with emergency contacts.  This system is vital in our efforts to reach you in the event of an emergency.  Skyward:  Skyward

You should have received an individualized email with your unique login credentials.  If you didn't receive the email or need help signing on, please contact the Help Desk at [email protected] or 717-506-3393.

Electronic Absence Notes

If your child is absent from school you may complete an electronic absence note within Skyward.  This will take the place of a handwritten note.  You may also send in a handwritten note in your child's school bag.  Please remember that all notes should be sent in upon your child returning to school.

Lost and Found

Please remember to label all of your child's items from school bag to coat to water bottle.  We always seem to accumulate an inordinate amount of lost and found items and we'd like you to help us prevent that this year by labeling your items.

Lunch

Please wait until after the Labor Day holiday to have lunch with your child.  We need time to set-up and establish routines in the cafeteria.  Please also wait to send in edible birthday treats.  You may send in non-food related birthday items such as stickers, pencils, or other items of this nature.  We need time as a staff to ensure that all health related food concerns are communicated and all plans are firmly in place.  It is our mission to ensure each child feels special and safe.

Back-to-School Night

Back To School Night is on Thursday, August 22, 2019 and is for PARENTS/GUARDIANS only.  Due to space limitations we ask that your child/children not come.  Grades 1-2 @ 6:00-7:00pm and grades 3-5 @ 7:00-8:00pm.

Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow!
