It's a Great Week to Be a Dragon!

REMINDER FROM OUR SCHOOL NURSE REGARDING BIRTHDAY TREATS
Did you know that about one in 13 children nationally are affected by food allergies?  We appreciate your help in ensuring all our children feel safe and included by keeping in mind at birthday time.  If you would like to recognize your child's birthday at school, non-edible treats like stickers are great for everyone.  If you do choose to share food, please remember that store-bought, labelled items in child-size portions (like popsicles or rice krispie treats) are the safest options.  Please feel free to contact our school nurse, Mrs. Daly, if you have any questions about birthday treats at Hampden.

ONE DISTRICT ONE BOOK
Hampden is greatly enjoying reading Frindle, our One District One Book.  We especially look forward to seeing our Frindle Bulletin Board that our very creative Art Teacher, Mrs. Kovach changes every morning based on the previous night's assigned reading.

ATTENTION HAMPDEN SCIENTISTS:
All 4th and 5th Grade students are invited to participate in the Hampden Science Club.  The club will meet after school until 5:00 PM every Monday, January 28 through April 1*. Each meeting will consist of activities to expose participants to a wide variety of science concepts and skills.  Spaces are limited and to a maximum of 30 students and will be filled on a first-come/first-served basis.  To register your student, click here You will also need to send $10 (cash or check payable to "Hampden PTO") to school in an envelope marked with your student's name and Science Club ASAP.  Please note that your student is NOT officially registered until payment has been received. * Monday, March 18 is a designated make-up day on the CV school calendar.  If school is in session on March 18, the Science Club will meet on that date and not on April 1.
