Minor fire in kitchen

Dear Good Hope Middle School Parents/Guardians:

Please be advised that this morning the fire alarm sounded at Good Hope Middle School. Students and staff were immediately and safely evacuated or held from entering the building. Emergency personnel arrived on scene to investigate. It was determined that the cause of the alarm was a minor electrical fire that was contained within a steamer unit in the kitchen. Smoke was vented through the kitchen hood system to the outside. Upon completion of the investigation by emergency personnel, students and staff returned to the building.
