Early Dismissal - 9/4/2018

The following was sent via auto phone message:

Attention parents of Sporting Hill Elementary School students: 

Sporting Hill Elementary School will dismiss early today, Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Sporting Hill students ONLY will dismiss at 1:00 PM. Lunches will be served. AM Kindergarten will dismiss at their normal time. Extended day kindergarten students will ride home on the bus with all elementary students. There is no afternoon kindergarten.

The early dismissal is due to the discovery of mold within two classrooms at Sporting Hill, which we believe is the result of pipes that began to sweat, dripping condensation onto ceiling tiles and raising humidity levels within the building. As a precautionary measure, we are dismissing students early so that crews are able to thoroughly clean the building, replace ceiling tiles, complete remediation, and do pre- and post-testing of air quality conditions.

Please know that at the heart of each of our choices is our desire to make the best possible decision for all of our students and staff. We will provide further information to families later today. As always, we sincerely appreciate your understanding and support.
