DONATIONS NEEDED FOR HAMPDEN GIRLS ON THE RUN SERVICE PROJECT
The  Hampden Girls on the Run Teams have been working hard this season. As part of the Girls on the Run curriculum, the girls are in charge of completing a community service project. This season the girls chose to help out foster children and their families in our community and other local communities by donating items to Our Father's Hope: Care for Orphans and Those Who Love Them. This organization helps foster children and their families by providing a foster closet to families who take in children. The closet supplies foster families and adoptive families with gently used clothing and other items for free. In addition, Our Father's Hope also donates book bags filled with items to local Children and Youth agencies for children entering the foster care system.

We are reaching out to the families of Hampden asking for donations for the items listed below. Your items can be dropped off in the boxes located in our school lobby or your student(s) can drop off their items in the boxes located throughout the building. For more information about drop box locations, please contact your student(s) teacher. All donations are due by April 23, 2018. Thank you in advance for your donations and your support of the Hampden Girls on the Run Team. 

Donation item requests include new and gently used: clothes and shoes (any size), pajamas, books, toys, outerwear, blankets, bedding (sheets & comforters), stuffed animals, sleeping bags, snow suits, coats, hats/gloves/mittens, toothpaste, toothbrushes, flashlights, school supplies (scissors, crayons, markers, pencils, glue sticks, rulers, etc.), book bags, suit cases, puzzles and games.  If you have any questions about the project feel free to email Mrs. Julie Kpakiwa at: [email protected].
