WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER GREAT WEEK AT SILVER SPRING!

Upcoming Events:

Dec 4-8 – Hour of Code Week

Dec 13 – PTO Meeting in the IMC 6:30PM – 7:30PM

Dec 14 – Guided Math Night (5:30-7:00) – Please note:  This is an RSVP event based on information we have already received from families and we ask that families begin arriving at 5:00 to facilitate time for food service for the opening session to begin at 5:30.

It’s Cookie Tray time!!! Making holiday cookie trays is a way for us to say THANK YOU to everyone who makes the school run smoothly: bus drivers, staff, teachers, custodians, etc. But we need your help to make this gift possible!

If you are able to contribute dessert items or volunteer your time, please sign up at: https://ttsu.me/gAQB.

Donations need to be sent in or dropped off on Tuesday morning, December 12th. The types and amounts are just guidelines: please feel free to send in more (or substitute if you need to at the last minute). If your child carries the cookies into school on the 12th, there will be volunteers waiting to take them.

A BIG THANK YOU, to our Silver Spring PTO for another successful Holiday Shoppe and Barnes and Noble Book Fair this past weekend!.

Parent Drop-Off:

Keeping our students safe is a number one priority of the Silver Spring staff. Therefore, it is imperative that the rules listed below are followed when dropping off your child in the morning.

1. Please use the crosswalks. When you cross at different areas it is not safe and causes unnecessary traffic delays.
2. If you park and walk your child into school, please make sure they walk with you. With all the cars in the area, we do not want children running ahead of you.

3. Please be respectful to the staff members in the front of the school that are reinforcing the rules. They are simply trying to keep everyone safe.
4. If you are driving up to the school to let your child out of the car, please pull up to the cross walk and let your child out on the right side of your car (closest to the school).

5. If you are dropping off a student after 8:55, it is imperative that the parent accompany the student to the office to get them signed in as tardy.

6. Finally, we ask that when parking in the parking lot, that you utilize the spaces marked as “Visitor” parking or in unmarked spaces rather than using the spaces which are reserved for staff members.
Thank you in advance for your help as we keep our students safe and efficiently utilize the flow of the parking area.

Hour of Code Week:

The Hour of Code begins Monday, 12/4/17!  Next week students will participate in the Hour of Code activities during Computer Class.  For more information, click the link below:
