4th and 5th grade Language Clubs at Monroe
Published on Oct 3, 2017 11:16
The Cumberland Valley High School STILES Club is pleased to offer after-school
foreign language classes at your elementary school. Teams of high school
language students will be teaching basic language and culture via fun activities
and games. To maximize limited resources (high school students, parent
chaperones, etc.), we will be combining languages into groups. For the first
time, we are also introducing English to ESL students. Your child will be
exposed to two foreign languages and cultures, and will be making connections
between them.
These courses are being offered to fourth and fifth grade students on a
first come, first served basis, as class size will be limited to 25. All classes
will be held from 3:45 – 5:00 p.m. Students registering must be committed to
attending all 6 classes. Parent volunteers are needed (1 per session) to stay
and assist with clerical duties as well as dismissal. If there are no parent
volunteers, the session will be canceled.
At this time, we are scheduling Session 1 which will be held the weeks of
October 30 to December 14. There will be no class during the Thanksgiving break
on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23.
If you have any questions, please contact Lan Ziegler ( [email protected]), high school
language and business teacher.
