PTO NEWS

The PTO has been hard at work, preparing for the new school year.  We are excited to see all of our old friends, and meet lots of new faces!  We have several volunteer opportunities available.  Please check out our sign up page at www.timetosignup.com/sphpto and consider signing up if you can!

Our first PTO Meeting of the school year will be held on Thursday August 17th at 7pm in the Library and we would love for you to join us!  The budget for the new year has been posted on our website and we will be voting on it at the meeting.  Please be sure to review it prior to the meeting and if you have any questions you can email Sarah at [email protected].  We'll discuss all of the exciting things we have planned for the year so far, as well as our volunteer needs.  Mrs. Shaddock will also be there in her first meeting as SpH Principal!  Kids are welcome to attend!

GIRLS ON THE RUN

Girls on the Run is a program for girls in 3rd through 5th grade, designed to increase self-esteem, teach critical life skills and help girls develop positive friendships and make healthy choices.  GOTR is so much more than running! No experience required!  Click here for more information.

VOLUNTEER CLEARANCES

Would you like to volunteer in the classroom or chaperone a field trip next year? As you may be aware, PA legislation requires school volunteers to obtain clearances for these school-related activities. Summer is a great time to take care of this if you haven't done so already so that you will be good to go when and if you are needed. Please click here for information about obtaining your clearances.

Note that hard copies of all 3 of the clearance requirements must be submitted to the school before you are allowed to volunteer. Also, note that the clearances are good for 5 years. If you've already completed the clearances and turned them in you should be good to go for 5 years.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
New this year! The Cumberland Valley School District will provide all needed elementary classroom supplies for the 2017-18 school year. We encourage elementary students to bring in earbuds for their personal use as part of our classroom instruction. Occasionally, throughout the year, we may request donations of hand sanitizer and tissues for use in classrooms.

CV SIS - Student Portal Access
For those with access, contact verification has been reset and will need to be completed upon first login/access of a student. The verification process allows us to collect important signoff information as well as helps to ensure that we have the most up-to-date contact information for your student(s). If you need assistance logging in or completing this process please email [email protected] with all relevant information for your help request. If you use the forgot password feature, please note the email will be sent from [email protected] and may go to your junk/spam mailbox.
