Happy Summer Monroe Families!

VOLUNTEER CLEARANCES
Would you like to volunteer in the classroom or chaperone a field trip next year? As you may be aware, PA legislation requires school volunteers to obtain clearances for these school-related activities. Summer is a great time to take care of this if you haven't done so already so that you will be good to go when and if you are needed.
Please click here for information about obtaining your clearances.

Note that hard copies of all 3 of the clearance requirements must be submitted to the school before you are allowed to volunteer. Also, note that the clearances are good for 5 years. If you've already completed the clearances and turned them in you should be good to go for 5 years.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
New this year! The Cumberland Valley School District will provide all needed elementary classroom supplies for the 2017-18 school year. We encourage elementary students to bring in earbuds for their personal use as part of our classroom instruction. Occasionally, throughout the year, we may request donations of hand sanitizer and tissues for use in classrooms.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
August 16 - Kindergarten Open House 5:30; New Family Open House at 7:00

August 21- First Day of School for students

August 24 - Back to School Night @ 6:00 PM

Note that kindergarten assignment letters will be mailed home in late July and teacher assignment letters for Grades 1-5 will be mailed home in early August.

ALTERNATE BUS TRANSPORTATION
As is required each year, if your child’s pick-up/drop-off locations are other than your home, you must complete the Request for Alternate Bus Assignment – Daycare Arrangements form. All requests for the 2017-18 school year must be received no later than Friday, July 21. Please note: Requests received after this date cannot be honored until after September 5. There is no need to resubmit if you have already completed the online form for the 2017-18 school year.

Please click here to access the form. You must make the transportation department aware of this information on annual basis. All grade-level students will be given one AM and one PM stop. AM stop can differ from PM stop, however it must be consistent five days per week with no multiple stops. Daycare providers are not responsible for providing roster information to the school district. Parents must provide this information to the district through the Request for Alternate Bus Assignment form. Please contact [email protected] or 506-3370 if you have any questions.
