Mentors wanted!

Mentors wanted!
Posted on 10/24/2017
Good Hope Middle School is looking for adult volunteers who would be interested in serving as mentors to students who may just need a little encouragement, an adult to look up to, or a connection within the community.

Mentors would be paired with students to meet with throughout the school year. Meetings would be based upon the availability of each volunteer, but would need to occur during the student's study hall (11:37 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. for grade six or 1:59 – 2:43 p.m. for grades seven and eight) to protect academic time. During this time, mentors would build a relationship with the student by doing such things as simply sharing in conversation, playing games, providing help with homework, and working with the student on time management. This is not a counseling session but rather an opportunity to make a lasting impact in a student's life.

All volunteers must obtain required clearances to participate in the mentor program.

To sign up for the program or receive more information, please email Michael Rose at [email protected] or Rebecca Yohe at [email protected].
