App Restrictions
The district utilizes management software on all devices, both in-school and at home, to enforce a variety of configuration and security settings. One of these settings restricts the use of the Windows Store, App Store and Chrome App Store. The only apps that can be installed on the device are those that have been approved by the district and added by technology staff. These apps are primarily educational in nature and have been requested by teachers for use in class.
Personal Content
Students are required to keep enough space available on the device for any district applications and content required for their classes. As with any piece of district technology, students do not have an expectation of privacy and a student may be asked to turn their device in to a staff member to verify that the content on it is school appropriate. Downloaded apps, music, and video must still adhere to the guidelines of the district’s Acceptable Use Policy. Games, and streaming music and video services are permitted as long as they do not interfere with district activates and standards of behavior. The district administration will make the final determination in cases of questionable content.
Management and Remote Control
The district utilizes management software on all devices to control settings, install applications, and remotely track devices. The software is required on all devices and cannot be disabled.
