Tryout information

Tee Times for 2022 Golf Team Tryouts are in a link below!!

Due to the impending heat and thunderstorms in tomorrow’s forecast, WE WILL ONLY TRYOUT ON 9 HOLES.  Tuesday’s schedule may be changed as well.

I have attached an updated tee time sheet.

Please be sure to come to tryouts well rested, fed, WELL HYDRATED, and wear plenty of sun protection.  If you feel sick on the course tomorrow, please be sure to contact one of the coaches.

Make sure you are keeping the score of your playing partners.  If there is a discretion, work it out after leaving the green but before teeing off.  Keep up the pace of play.

We will be making cuts after day 1 of the tryout.  I will send out an email with Tuesday’s tee times Monday afternoon.

Physicals and other forms due PRIOR to tryouts
Every student must submit a Physical and a Risk of Injury form prior to tryouts.  All Cumberland Valley athletic teams are using the software program called RANK ONE.  This is where you will upload these two forms.  CV will no longer be accepting hard copies of these forms.  All of the information regarding submitting paperwork is on our website here… https://www.cvschools.org/athletics/athletic_training/physical_form_information
Please use this as a reference,  or simply call or email the CV athletic trainers.

Every student wishing to participate in tryouts must also complete a Random Drug Test form.  This form is found in Skyward.

About the golf tryouts
Everyone interested in participating on the CV Golf Team must tryout.  The tryout is 2 days of 18 hole play.  Cuts may be made after day 1.  Please come to Rich Valley on time with your own set of clubs, golf balls, water, and proper golf attire. Range balls will be provided for each participant to warm up prior to their round.  Results will be emailed to all participants as to the results of the tryout.

* Each participant will be playing in a foursome or a threesome
* Each participant will keep accurate tally of their own strikes, as well as one other member in the group.
* It is your responsibility to keep accurate score of you and your partner.  Please don't simply ask your partner how many strikes they had.  This leads to an opportunity for dishonesty.  You should know their score and then ask them.  If there is a discrepancy, retrace each shot together.

What will be evaluated
The score on the score card is obviously the primary objective focus, but many other subjective factors will also be evaluated.  The coaches will also be considering such things as golf etiquette,  pace of play, understanding of general golf rules, honesty and integrity on the course, and sportsmanship.
