CV Soaring Voices

CV Soaring Voices is a mixed vocal ensemble that performs only the highest quality choral literature.
As a select ensemble, membership is earned through a successful audition and approval from the choir director. Repertoire for Soaring Voices is selected to challenge the singers and provide historical and cultural perspective, extend student engagement, and aesthetic depth. Successful students will demonstrate extensive growth in musicianship, vocal technique, music literacy, and rehearsal and performance discipline. Students are required to participate in several sectional rehearsals throughout each marking period. Students are required to attend all rehearsals and performances.

CV Concert Choir

Concert Choir is open to all 10th-12th grade students. This ensemble works to develop an expressive and beautiful tone quality, sing with good pitch and clear diction, develop correct breathing habits and phrasing, and receive exposure to and performance of high quality vocal literature. Students are required to participate in several sectional rehearsals throughout each marking period. Participation in various concerts throughout the school year is required.

Academy Choir

This ensemble is open to all interested 9th grade students. Students enrolled in this ensemble will focus on developing a solid foundation in tone production, diction, and breathe control. The ensemble will perform music appropriate to this level of singer, as well as, perform as part of the CVHS Concert Choir. Students are required to participate in several sectional rehearsals throughout each marking period. Participation in rehearsals and concerts throughout the school year is required.

Nest Choirs

During the CV10-12 Campus' "Nest" Period, students have the opportunity to participate in ensembles categorized by voice part.  A tenor/bass choir and a soprano/alto choir meet once a week during the "Nest" Period for rehearsal.  In addition to those choirs, a contemporary a cappella choir also rehearses.  These ensembles are open to any CV10-12 student regardless of current choir class enrollment.
