Year 1 - Specific Curriculum is Reviewed / Revised and Mapped
Year 2 - New Curriculum is piloted and Common Assessments are created
Year 3 - New Resources purchased and all teachers using New/Revised/Mapped Curriculum
Year 4 - Teaching with the Curriculum ... adjustments made in Units Maps
Year 5 - Teaching with the Curriculum ... adjustments made in Unit Maps
Year 6 - Teaching with the Curriculum ... adjustments made in Unit Maps
Year 7 - Teaching with the Curriculum ... adjustments made in Unit Maps
Year 8 - Review of Curriculum - identify areas of need for revision - identify Curriculum writers for following year.
Cumberland Valley breaks Curriculum into three documents:
Scope and Sequence: Summarizes what is to be taught (standards & units) and when the topics/standards are taught in the school year
Curriculum Maps (Standards Maps) - Both an explanation of the academic standard, what students will know and be able to do based on the standard, and where the standard is taught.
Unit Maps (Lesson Planning documents) - topics and resources - resource for teachers - adjustments made teachers as new resources are available
