Welcome to Room 102, home away from home for Mrs. Virginia T. Walters. I teach Kindergarten.  Mrs. Alter is the paraprofessional assigned to our classroom. She is a welcomed addition to our classroom, and she does a great job working with our students.

In Kindergarten, the students participate in language arts, math, science, and social studies. Social Studies and science are often integrated with language arts. Word work, interactive read aloud, shared reading, guided reading, and writing instruction are all components of our language arts block. During guided reading,  students also enjoy working at work stations where they practice concepts that are taught during the various subject areas.  Library (Day 4), computer (Day 1), and physical education (Day 2), otherwise known as gym to the students, are all part of the five day cycle in Kindergarten.

Room 102 welcomes all volunteers to help in our classroom. I encourage parents and grandparents to help during our writing and work station times. Our class also loves to have volunteers read to the class, so please consider helping out our classroom in one of these capacities.
