Welcome to Room 102, home away from home for Mrs. Virginia T. Walters. I teach AM and PM Kindergarten. In Kindergarten, the students participate in language arts, math, science, and social studies. Social Studies and science are often integrated with language arts. Word work, interactive read aloud, shared reading, guided reading, and writing instruction are all components of our language arts block. During guided reading, students also enjoy working at work stations where they practice concepts that are taught during the various subject areas. Library, computer, and physical education (otherwise known as gym to the students) are all part of the six day cycle in Kindergarten. Mrs. Kristi O'Keefe is our classroom paraprofessional. She helps out in the classroom during Kid Writing and center time. She also provides assisstance when students need extra one-on-one help with concepts that are taught. 

Room 102 welcomes all volunteers to help in our classroom. I encourage parents and grandparents to help during our writing and center times. Our class also loves to have volunteers read to the class, so please consider helping out our classroom in one of these capacities.
