Homework Philosophy
(see assignments posted below)
Homework assignments provide fourth grade students with an opportunity to review and practice skills taught during the school day. In addition, homework teaches young students the importance of responsibility and accountability.
Students are expected to record all homework assignments in their agendas on a daily basis. Parents are asked to read the agenda each day and sign at the bottom in the comments section. All assignments are due on the next school day unless otherwise indicated.
Please encourage your children to complete homework assignments in pencil. They should do the assignments independently if possible. However, it is more than appropriate for students to ask for help from parents, babysitters, or older siblings if they need it. In addition, dictionaries, encyclopedias or the internet can always be used as an additional resource. Parents should feel free to proofread homework assignments and help with corrections.
Routine homework assignments are listed on the Homework Calendar following this message.
