Graphics Communications is offered to students in grades 9-12 and it is directed toward giving the students a basic background in the field of printing and graphic design. All aspects of the printing and publishing field will be covered.

Computerized desktop publishing will be introduced as well as typsetting and layout, photo offset printing, intaglio printing, screen printing (both hand-cut and photographic), and basic binding processes. Typical projects include a desktop published booklet, a hard-bound book, decals, iron-ons, printed tee-shirts, posters, printed note pads, and several multi-colored projects. The history of graphic communication industry, as well as methods of production used by the industry will be studied. Students will be responsible for any consumable supplies used for their projects.
