Hello, I am Sherrie Kauffman.  I have been teaching for 32 years,29 of them at Cumberland Valley.  When I came to Cumberland Valley I was hired to set up and teach the Special Interest Prgram.  After teaching Special Interest for 7 years I then transferred to a regular classroom position.  I started teaching first grade at Sporting Hill and did that for 11 years.  Then I taught second grade for four years.  Now I am a first and second grade looping teacher, which means I teach first grade one year and then move to second grade with the same students the next year.

     Outside of school, I am married with two childeren.   My husband, Kim works at Messiah College in Grantham.   My daughter, Lindsey, is 22 and attending Maharishi University of Management in Farfield. Iowa majoring in Sustainable Living (living green) and my son, Grant, is 17 and a senior at Central Dauphin High School.  They both will graduate this spring.  We live in Fishing Creek Valley.  Our house is on the side of Blue Mountain in the woods where we enjoy a variety of wildlife, deer, turkey, bear, rabbit, and lots of squirrels. 

     I have many interests outside of teaching.  I enjoy reading, quilting, walking in the woods and the beach, antiques, and being with family and friends.
