I am Mrs. Patty Schons,  I am excited to be working at Monroe Elementary as the Life Skills/MDS Teacher.  This is my 8th year at CV.

My husband, Brian, is an Officer in the Navy and his career spans 20 years this coming December.  He is currently serving a 3 year term in Philly.  We have 2 cats named Shelby, and Chloe.  In light of the frequent moves or geographic separations we have had to endure during the last 17 years of marriage, I feel that I have acquired many unique experiences.  I started my teaching career in Georgia in 2000, then taught for two years in Mississippi.  Shortly after our transfer here to Pennsylvania in 2003 I had the opportunity to be a long -term substitute in several of the District's schools in the areas of Emotional Support, Life Skills, and Learning Support.  In 2005 I was hired on full-time as a Learning Support Teacher at Sporting Hill Elementary where I was until  the end of the 2009-2010 school year when the classroom was closed.  At the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year I was transferred to Silver Spring Elemnetary to become the Full Time Emotional Support Teacher.  At the end of last school year the district transferred me back to where I started at Monroe in Life Skills.

I earned my Master's Degree in Special Education from Texas A & M University, Corpus Christi in 1998.  I doubled majored in both Elementary and Special Education for my Bachelor's Degree, which I earned from Salve Regina University in 1991.
