Art Room Information


A Traditional Art Studio Environment...

Our art room is a spacious 1,200 square-feet room with three northern-exposure, floor-to-ceiling windows.  A perfect environment for producing art!   Built-in cabinetry on two sides of the room holds our supplies.  A large black board and two bulletin boards enhance traditional teaching and learning methods.  The room also boasts a sink for cleaning our hands and supplies, and a wonderful ceramics kiln where I fire the students’ hand-built pottery and sculpture.

With State of the Art Technology!

In the 2008-2009 school year, the art room acquired a high resolution ceiling mounted projector.  With the help of an internet search engine, I can show the students art that enhances each learning experience.  Also through the web, students will watch videos of demonstrations, and visit museums.  In addition, the art room is equipped with a Smart Board.  Students interact with the projected learning maps and visuals.  Our school also has clickers that can use in the art room to assess student learning of Learning Focused Schools content material.  Can we answer essential questions?

In the 2009-2010 school year, we acquired six laptops for student use.  The laptops enhance the learning experience.  To ensure that students learn to use the computers in meaningful and educational ways, I provide specific web-based projects for them to complete.
