About Mrs. Loeffler
I am fortunate enough to be in my thirteenth year at Sporting Hill as a learning support teacher. I am excited to return to the classroom! I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in special education in 1999 and I completed my Master’s degree as a reading specialist in December 2003 from Shippensburg University. My third degree is a “Ducktorate Degree” from Disney University! In 1998, I was a college program participant at the Walt Disney World Resort in the Magic Kingdom. Most recently, I became certified to teach the Wilson Reading System. I enjoy working with our Sporting Hill students in and out of the learning support resource room.
I provide accommodations to the general curriculum for students with learning disabilities (or differences, as I like to think of it). Throughout the day I assist students with learning disabilities in the general curriculum by adapting tests to meet their needs, reading tests and other assignments aloud, and helping students to learn strategies to organize their materials, take tests, and budget their time. I also instruct students in small groups in the resource room for language arts and math, as needed. Together the teachers work to help all students learn. My goal is to make the students as independent as possible and to prepare the fifth graders for middle school.
