Welcome to my website!

I am excited to be the Reading Clinician for Hampden Elementary.  To me literacy skills are the keys to a bright and interesting future with many oppportunities. 

My educational experience has been rich and varied.  I have been a literacy coach, elementary principal, reading supervisor K-8, reading specialist, instructional specialist, case manager for gifted students and classroom teacher.  In 2007-08 as a principal, my school was chosen as an Exemplary School by IU 15 for the academic improvement students achieved.  That same year, I was selected as an Outstanding Educator in my district. 

I graduated magna cum laude from Messiah College as an education major and from Shippensburg University with a Master in Education.  I have taken 72 credits of graduate credit beyond my master's degree from Shippensburg, Millersville and Temple University.  I am certified as a Reading Specialist, Reading Supervisor K-12, Elementary Teacher, Elementary Principal and Curriculum and Instruction Supervisor. 

My hobbies include reading, photography and travel.  Our family has visited all 50 states and twenty-one major league ball parks.  My daughter and her husband live in Washington D.C. where she works for a national organization.  My son and his wife live in Boston where he is attending medical school.  My husband and I live in Mechanicsburg where we enjoy gardening.
