Welcome to my webpage.  I am a resource room teacher at Sporting Hill responsible for working with children in the 2nd and 4th grades.  I have been part of Cumberland Valley School District since 1996 and have been teaching for over 15 years.

 I received my Bachelor’s Degree at Penn State University and have completed graduate certification and coursework at both Penn State and Shippensburg University.  I am a member of Sporting Hill's Response to Intervention Team and School Wide Behavior Support Team.

Reading is my passion, both personally and professionally.  At home, when I have free time you can usually find me curled up somewhere quiet with a book.  Reading has brought such joy to my life.  I believe that becoming a reader is crucial to my students’ success and that every child can be successful if they believe in themselves, work hard and practice what they learn. 

If you visit my classroom you will find a safe and friendly environment where children feel comfortable and welcome.  Expectations are high.  We work hard, but also laugh a lot.  When your child is working in the resource room, they will be receiving small group and direct instruction to support the learning skills outlined in their IEPs. 

I welcome parent involvement and ask that you become as involved in your child’s program as much as you can.  Parent participation is an important component of the children’s success.
