Mr. Barrick has been teaching at Sporting Hill since 1996.   He is a Cumberland Valley H.S. and Shippensburg University graduate.  He has B.S. degrees in Elementary Education and Environmental Education as well as an M.A. in Elementary Education. 

    He currently lives in Hampden Township with his wife and two sons and is an active member of the local community.   His interests include coaching baseball, rugby, camping, gardening, reading, and attending Penn State football games.   

     In the classroom you will usually find his class actively discovering and investigating various problems. The children are parts of small support groups that work together to solve and finish projects and experiments. 
The classroom is usually very active with a lot of student interaction and participation.  Special attention is given to present concepts in various learning styles so that all children can learn and be successful.  Mr. Barrick incorporates technology into the classroom through the smart board, web pages, and blogs.  Mr. Barrick always encourages parent involvement and welcomes questions or concerns at any time.
