Updates (Week of 3/30/2020)

(4.4.20) Email to families

Dear Cumberland Valley Families:

As we shared last month, we are moving toward remote instruction of new content for all students beginning the week of April 6, 2020, in a limited fashion, and will begin a more formalized and robust (but still very different than our regular program) schedule starting on April 13, 2020. To help our families better understand our expectations and guidelines by grade level for remote instruction, we have developed a series of remote learning webpages. We also outline available supports throughout these webpages.

As always, should you have any questions regarding our plan for remote learning, please reach out to your child’s principal.

Thank you.

(3.30.20) Email to families:

Dear CVSD Families,

Now more than ever, our partnership with you is critical as we continue to provide an education for our students, even when they are unable to attend our schools. This afternoon, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf extended the closure of Pennsylvania schools indefinitely. As a District, we have been moving forward with plans to transition to a remote learning platform in the next several weeks in anticipation of this type of order.

By clicking the link below, you will find a document outlining CVSD’s plans for providing a Continuity of Education for our students while schools remain closed. CVSD plans to begin to move toward instruction of new content for all students beginning the week of April 6, 2020, in a limited fashion and moving to a more robust (but still very different than our regular program) schedule on April 13, 2020. Many questions and concerns we have received from families are addressed in the attached document.

Additional information that further explains the District’s plans can be found by watching the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_qXBItMTiM.

Families of students who receive specialized services will receive specific communication regarding how the District can best support you and your student as we move to a remote learning model, which is our only viable option at this time.

As always, we greatly appreciate your support and we look forward to continuing to educate our amazing students as we move forward together.

With sincere appreciation,
