Shaull Fair Volunteer Request:

The Shaull Fair Needs You!

Friday, May 10th at Shaull Elementary

We have planned a family fun night for all to enjoy however we need your help to make it run smoothly. We are happy to have middle school or high school volunteers also!

How do you volunteer?  Follow this link https://ttsu.me/u5hvpz to view all of the available time slots needed. If a timeslot has a name, the position is filled. If it does not, it means that it’s still available. All you need to do to fill a position is to click on the sign-up box next to your desired position. A gray box will appear prompting you to enter your name and email address. Once finished, click submit and that’s it!

Remember to volunteer early for your preferred time!

Thank you for your willingness to help, without your support, the PTO wouldn’t be able to continue providing the wonderful programs for our children and the school.

From Mrs. Zoerb:

Medications for Field Trips / Camp / Field Day

It will soon be time for special activities including trips away from school. School policies remain in place during these activities. All prescription drugs require a Dr’s order to be given at school, at camp, on field day, or on a field trip.

If you have not submitted a Dr’s order for a prescription medication to be given @ school it cannot be given at camp, on field day, or on a field trip.

Itchy Eyes

If your child is complaining about this issue here are some simple tips to minimize the aggravating effects of pollen on the eyes. Non-medicated steps to minimize allergy symptoms include handwashing and washing pollen off the face every time the student comes inside from being outside. Taking a shower and washing hair before bed prevents taking pollen to bed, rubbing one’s face in it, and breathing it in all night. Using natural tears eye drops (w/ no extra additives) right before bed and upon arising also helps rinse irritants out of the eyes. The school has “natural tears” eye drops but does not have allergy / antihistamine eye drops, so this problem cannot be solved at school. Allergy medications such as oral antihistamines, or antihistamine eye drops, should be given at home unless, in severe cases, a primary provider writes a medication order for administration at school. As always, before giving medicine to your child, check with your health care provider for recommendations on managing your child’s symptoms .

Head Lice Happens

Continue to check your child’s head on a regular basis. Like other childhood diseases (strep throat, pinworms, mono, colds) there’s always a case somewhere. Lice do not jump, fly, or hop. They can crawl quickly and are spread through direct contact (mainly head to head contact), or by indirect contact with personal items (pillows, hats, headbands, or athletic helmets). Children should not share bedding, towels, athletic bags, or clothing. They should not share combs, headbands, clips, or barrettes. Anyone can get lice. Avoid head to head contact.
