Brrrr, It's Cold Outside, Hampden!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT
We are excited to be able to partner with Junior Achievement again this year to bring real-world education including business ownership, finances, and personal spending into Hampden.  The program is age-appropriate, engaging, and FUN!  We are seeking volunteers to visit the following classroom and support the Junior Achievement program:  Mrs. Flynn (1st Grade), Mrs. Krentz (1st Grade), and Mrs. Kpakiwa (2nd Grade).  Click here to learn more about becoming a Junior Achievement volunteer and to sigh up.  For more information, please contact Jen Metz at [email protected].

SWEETHEART DANCE -- FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1
This year's Sweetheart Dance is going to be a Boots n' Bling Hoedown!  All female students and one escort are invited to attend this event on Friday, February 1, 6:30 - 8:00 PM.  To view the event flyer, click here.  In addition, professional photos of your little cowpoke will be taken by Colleen & Co.  For more photo information, including the order form, click here.

COLD WEATHER REMINDER
Please remember to send your children to school dressed warmly.  Students will go out for recess if the temperature (with wind chill) is 17 degrees or higher.  This is a guideline for all CV Elementary Schools.  Temperature from Weather Bug will be used.  Hampden will use the "Currently Outside" temperature which is on the left side under the map. ("Feels like" temperature will be used -- look under the regular temperature.)  Once outside, if the temperature seems too cold to stay outside, the building aides and teacher on duty will collaborate to make the decision to bring the students back inside.
