Sporting Hill: Learning to BE a better version of ME!
AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK
You are invited to visit Sporting Hill Elementary School during our American Education Week 2018. Tuesday, November 6 and Wednesday, November 7 have been designated as classroom visitation days. Suggested visitation times are 9:15 AM to 3:15 PM. Due to the number of expected visitors, we would appreciate it if you limit your visits to 30 minutes.
VISITATION SUGGESTIONS & PROCEDURES
- 1. Upon arrival at Sporting Hill, please be sure to stop in the office so we can welcome you and give you a visitor's identification badge.
- a. All visitors will need a visitor ID badge before entering the building. Please click here to pre-register for a badge.
- 2. Please refrain from bringing children to school during classroom visits.
- 3. Upon arrival at your child’s room, please go in and have a seat.
- 4. Teachers will follow their normal teaching schedule. During your visit, please remain quiet and silence your cell phone so as not to disrupt classroom instruction.
- 5. We welcome you to stay for your child’s special class if they transition to Art, Explorations, Library, Music or PE during your visit.
- 6. If you choose to stay and have lunch with your child, please send a note to the teacher that morning with your lunch choice if you are buying.

VETERANS DAY ASSEMBLY
You are invited to attend our annual Veterans Day Assembly which will be held this year on Friday, November 9th at 2:15 pm in the Sporting Hill Gymnasium. The program this year will feature many unique elements such as musical selections, selected readings, artwork, a guest speaker, and recognition of veterans. We are excited that all students have contributed some part to our assembly either in creating artwork for the hallways or participating in the program.

STEAM Night Grades 3-5 - New Date - Thursday, November 8
On Thursday, November 8th (This is different than the school calendar and previous e-new blasts.) we will be having our 1st ever Family STEAM Night for grades 3-5 at Sporting Hill Elementary from 6pm-8-pm. This free event is open to students in grades 3rd – 5th and their families. Food will be provided (Pizza, hot dogs (100% Beef), gluten free options and water) and then we’ll get some information on our new Explorations curriculum and participate in some exciting STEAM activities.
