Sporting Hill Bulldogs - Learning to BE a better version of ME!

PTO News

Thank you to all of our families who took the time to fill out Race for Education mailers this week!  So far we have mailed out a total of 237 mailers to friends, families, and businesses in our community and across the country.  Our goal for the year is to send 3,500 mailers.  That is an average of just 5 mailers per student at Sporting Hill.  We will not be able to reach our goal without YOUR help!  Please, please, please take some time during this 3-day weekend to fill out the mailers that were sent home with your child this week and return them to school on Tuesday.

Do you or someone you know own a small business?  Sporting Hill PTO now has a Sponsorship Program!  If your business is interested in sponsoring our PTO, please email Sarah at [email protected] for more info.  We have several advertising opportunities to offer you in return for your sponsorship, and we are looking forward to building a closer relationship with business leaders in our community!

Strings and Band News - 4th and 5th Grade Families

To the Parents/Guardians of 4th Graders:

This year your child has the opportunity to be a part of the elementary strings program. Your child should have brought home a white or yellow colored packet with more information. It is also attached here. Once this paper is returned to me, your child will be sized for an instrument and I will send another letter home with more information about the string program. The initial paperwork is due by September 7th. Additionally, please plan on attending a meeting on September 12th at 6 pm in the Performing Arts Center at the High School where you will learn more information about lesson scheduling, making up missed work, etc. During this evening you will have the opportunity to meet several local music dealers and rent an instrument. Please email me at [email protected] if you have any questions.

To the Parents/Guardians of 5th Graders:

This year your child has the opportunity to be a part of the elementary strings program. If your child participated in the string program last year, they should have brought home a letter that asks whether they plan to continue lessons this year. If your child did not participate in the string program last year, they have the option to begin this year and any interested student should have brought home a white or yellow colored packet with more information. It is also attached here if you need a new copy. Once this paper is returned to me, your child will be sized for an instrument and I will send another letter home with more information about the string program. The initial paperwork is due September 7th.

This year your child also has the opportunity to be a part of the elementary band program. Your child should have brought home a white paper that says “Be Part of the Music”. It is also attached here if you need a new copy. Even if you filled out this paper last year, we are requesting that you fill out and submit another one this year. The paperwork is due September 7th. Additionally, please plan on attending a meeting on September 12th at 6 pm in the Performing Arts Center at the High School where you will learn more information about lesson scheduling, making up missed work, etc. You will also have the opportunity to meet with several local music dealers and rent an instrument that evening. Please email me at [email protected] if you have any questions.
