  It's Back to School Time!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
The first school day for all Cumberland Valley schools for the 2018-2019 academic year is Monday, August 27. To view the academic calendar that is posted on the CV website, click here. 

SAY HELLO TO HAMPDEN'S NEW DRAGON!
Kayla Wilder, a former Hampden Dragon, has designed and created a new Hampden Dragon sculpture in front of our school.  With our school's mascot as inspiration, she completed the statue in accordance with her Girl Scout Gold Star Award.   Made out of chicken wire and Habitat Free Form, a material used in professional prop making, the Dragon resides outside the front entrance of our school.  As she worked on the project, Kayla documented her progress on a blog which you are invited to visit at: https://kwgoldaward.blogspot.com.

CLARIFICATION ABOUT SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Once again, the Cumberland Valley School District will be providing all school supplies for students.  Parents should be sure that their students have a backpack and if desired, a lunchbox for school.  As always, boxes of tissues and hand-sanitizers for the classrooms are always welcome and greatly appreciated.

KINDERGARTEN & NEW FAMILIES OPEN HOUSE -- AUGUST 23
Our Open House for Kindergarten students and families new to Hampden is scheduled for Thursday August 23 at the following times:
5:00 PM:  AM & Extended Day Kindergarten Open House
6:15 PM:  PM Kindergarten Open House
7:30 PM:  New Family Open House

OPEN HOUSE & PTO MINGLE -- AUGUST 24
Our Open House for all students will be held on August 24, 2:45 - 3:30 PM.  Immediately after, there will be a PTO Mingle on the playground 3:30 - 5:00 PM.  

HAMPDEN BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT -- AUGUST 30
Hampden Elementary's Back to School Night will be held on Thursday, August 30 at the following times:
6:00 PM -- Grades 1 & 2
7:00 PM -- Grades 3, 4 & 5
Please note that our Back to School Night is for PARENTS ONLY.  Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation!
