Schedules, Lockers, New Student Orientation

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION: Next Tuesday, August 21, Good Hope is excited to hold our annual NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION event. This is open to ALL 6th grade students/families, and to all students/families in 7th and 8th grade who are NEW to Good Hope.  Click HERE for an agenda of the activities.  
Please park in the side parking lot and enter through the doors by the gymnasium. Overflow parking is in front of the building, and towards Hampden. Registration/check-in will be in the gym.  Students should remember which team they are on. We will have lists posted as well.  

Due to the limited space, we discourage bringing siblings and additional family members. It will be a packed house for both sessions.  We have split the alphabet in half to accommodate the crowd into two sessions. Please try to attend the session which corresponds with your student's last name. If this presents a conflict with your schedule, please try to switch with someone from the other session, if possible. There is no need to RSVP for the event.... just show up!  

LOCKER PRACTICE: For those new students who cannot attend the orientation, or for those students who might need extra practice with lockers, we will open the building today (August 14) from 9:00-11:00am and again from 1:00pm-3:00pm for students to drop in and practice opening lockers. Students' specific lockers are not assigned yet, but we will have designated lockers with posted combinations to practice. We will have student leaders present to assist. Because the building is still being cleaned and prepared for the opening of school, we request that students/families remain in the designated locker area when visiting.

CVSIS PORTAL/SCHEDULES: As many know, the CVSIS Portal opened yesterday. Students are now able to view their schedule after parents complete the annual update process in CVSIS. Schedules are in draft form. While we don't anticipate any team changes, there may be a little rearranging of classes to balance out numbers and accommodate the needs of our 1250 students. Students will receive a hard-copy of their official schedule on the first day of school, so there is no need to print the schedule from CVSIS. Please note that homeroom and locker assignments have not added yet.  If you discover an error with your schedule (missing a class, wrong class, etc), please reach out to your counselor ASAP with details. 

SCHOOLOGY: Schoology will open next week. Students will then be able to view class information, teacher updates, etc.
