Hello Parents with Children Attending the 4th Annual PTO Sponsored 8th Grade Field Trip:

I can’t believe we are approaching the last day of school! Below are some notes for the parents with children attending the 8th Grade field trip on Friday, June 1st: We will be going over all the rules with your student the day before the trip and the morning of the trip.

1. We will be departing the school around 10:45am.

2. The students should only bring to school whatever they want to take to Hershey Park.

3. The kids should be prepared and bring whatever they want and is permissible by Hershey Park with them for the trip. Here is the link to the parks FAQs page if you have any questions: http://www.hersheypark.com/park-info/faqs.php

4. The kids are allowed to do whatever they want at HP. But they must stay within the park. This includes going to the waterpark.

5. We are using the REMIND app to communicate with parents. Please sign up for the remind app by using this link: https://www.remind.com/join/2018ptotr

6. We are also using the REMIND app to communicate with the students. Please have your child sign up by using this link: https://www.remind.com/join/2018ptot

7. Any child leaving early MUST be picked up by 4:15 pm. This is the ONLY designated pick up time. If your child wants to be picked up at this time they MUST have a permission note with them. If they are not picked up by 4:15 pm then they MUST ride the bus home.

8. There are 4 designated check in times: 1:30 and 7:30 by phone and/or text. 4:30 and 9:30 in person. 9:30 is when we will be departing the park. If your student fails to check in you will be called to pick them up so please stress to them the importance of checking in with their chaperone.

9. Again, if your student does not check in, you will be called to come and pick them up!

10. We have one chaperone for about 10 students. The chaperones will ride the bus with your student and until we reach the gate of the park. Once the students are in the park they are on their own until the next check in time.

11. We will be leaving the park around 9:30 pm and arriving back at GHMS by 10pm ish.

12. IF you have any questions, please call, text or email Denyse Miskin at [email protected] or 717-480-9865. Denyse is the lead chaperone and is in charge of the trip.

Thanks for reminding your students of some of the trip rules. We are looking forward to a wonderful day at Hershey Park!!!!
