Hello Middlesex Families, 

SPRING PICTURE VOLUNTEERS: 
Spring pictures at Middlesex will be March 20th. If  you are interested in volunteering to assist students during this day, please click here to sign up for a time to volunteer. 

ATTENDANCE REMINDERS:
*When a child is absent, a parent/guardian is asked to call the school on the morning of the absence and report the absentee’s name and grade.
*When a child is absent from school, the parent/guardian is responsible for sending a note to school stating the reason for the absence. This should be sent when the child returns to class. If a note is not received within three (3) days after an absence, the absence will be marked un-excused/ unlawful. 
*Absences may be excused for illness, doctor/dentist appointments, family emergencies, and educational trips. Educational trips must be submitted on the appropriate form 1 week prior to the absence.

PTO SKATING REMINDER: 
Free family skate party this Saturday, March 10th!   We hope to see your family at Carlisle Sports Emporium from 4:00-6:30 p.m. at 29 S Middlesex Rd, Carlisle, PA. No cost for admission or rentals, but the PTO will collect donations of tissues, hand sanitizer, and Lysol wipes to be used in Middlesex Elementary classrooms. Food and drink available for purchase from the Sports Emporium snack bar. This is a family event-please come to stay and play with your family.

PSSA ASSESSMENT:
The annual 2018 PSSA Assessment testing window schedule is as follows:
Grades 3^rd – 8^th : English Language Arts Assessment - April 9-13, 2018
Grades 3^rd – 8^th : Math Assessment -  April 16-20, 2018
Grades 4^th and 8^th: Science Assessment - April 23-27, 2018
*More information about the assessments will be sent home with 3rd to 5th grade students next week.

BIG REWARD:
The superhero "caughtcha" container in the office is almost full. We will be celebrating and congratulating students for working as a superhero team to ensure that we are all being responsible, respectful, safe, and ready at Middlesex. Our BIG REWARD Laser Show celebration will be on March 15th!

UPCOMING EVENTS: 

Thank you for your continued support with encouraging students to have a growth mindset!! This week I observed in many classrooms; students were excited about a challenge that the teacher presented them with and they persevered and achieved success!!
