WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER GREAT WEEK AT HAMPDEN!

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART RAISES MORE THAN $16K
At a student assembly on Friday, February 16, Hampden's Heart Heroes revealed that our Jump Rope for Heart campaign raised $16,425 -- and the final total in not yet in!  Thank you to all of our students, parents, and Hampden community for this tremendous effort!

READ ACROSS AMERICA WEEK

According to the National Education Association, motivating children to read is an important factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers. Research has shown that children who are motivated and spend more time reading do better in school.  Brilliant, playful, and always respectful of children, Dr. Seuss charmed his way into the consciousness of four generations of youngsters and parents. In the process, he helped millions of children learn to read.  We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday February 26 through March 2 with the following themes each day:
Monday, 2/26: The Cat in the Hat Day -- Wear your favorite hat.
Tuesday, 2/27: Fox in Socks Day -- Wear your craziest pair of socks.
Wednesday, 2/28: Wacky Wednesday Day -- Wear your wackiest outfit.
Thursday, 3/1: Oh the Places You'll Go Day -- Wear a shirt from a place you have visited.
Friday, 3/2: Dr. Seuss's Birthday -- Dress up like your favorite character.

HAMPDEN'S 28th ANNUAL FAMILY BINGO NIGHT
The Hampden PTO will host its Annual Family Bingo Night on Friday, March 2 at 7 PM.  Pre-Sale order forms for bingo cards and raffle tickets are being sent home with students today and will be accepted through Wednesday, February 28.
