It's a Great Week at Hampden!

HAMPDEN PRE-K NIGHT
Families of incoming 2018-2019 Hampden kindergarten students are invited to attend our Pre-K Night on Thursday, April 19, 6:15 - 7:15 PM, featuring activities to help prepare your child for kindergarten.  Please note that this night is for parents/guardians and the kindergarten child and we greatly appreciate if you arrange for childcare for other siblings.  For those interested in attending, please RSVP by April 13 to Mrs. Hart at [email protected]

ATTENTION PARENTS AND GUARDIANS OF 5TH GRADERS:
It is hard to believe, but the end of the school year is almost here and it is time to start preparing your fifth grade student for the move to the middle school. Good Hope Middle School will host a parent information night on Wednesday, April 25 at 7 PM in the auditorium to provide you with an opportunity to learn about the middle school and ask questions to better prepare your elementary student for the transition to the secondary level.

During this event, parents will learn about the middle school schedule, grading information, general policies and procedures, tips for transition, and other important information about middle school life. There will also be an opportunity for parents to ask questions. The evening concludes with a self-guided tour of the building, with the assistance of some of our student leaders. While we certainly wouldn't turn away any students, this presentation is intended primarily for parents/guardians. Students will have several other opportunities to visit the middle school and get lots of information about "moving to the middle."  Information will be posted on the Good Hope website for families who are unable to attend.

SAVE THE DATE: New Student Orientation for all 6th Graders - Tuesday, August 21. Students will be assigned to an afternoon session or an evening session, to accommodate the crowd. Snacks, prizes, games, team-building, meet the teachers, locker information, walk the schedule, building tours, etc.! More information to come...

PSSA TESTING CONTINUES THIS WEEK
Students in 3rd to 5th grade will be taking the PSSA Assessment this week.  Please be sure that your student(s) gets a good night's rest and has a good breakfast.  Math PSSAs will be adminstered on April 17th and 18th, and Science on April 24th and 25th (4th grade only).  No Educational Trip requests will be approved during these testing windows.

MOTHER/SON GAMES AT HAMPDEN
The Hampden PTO will be hosting the Mother/Son Games April 27, 6:30-8:00 PM for male students and one female guest over the age of 18. There will be kickball, 2 Capture the Flags, relay races, Four-Square, board games, and a photo station. Please bring a camera or a smart phone for photo opportunities.
