Welcome back to another SUPER week at Hampden!

THON
Wow!  Team Hampden came together in a HUGE way last week as our school community raised over $9,000 at our Hampden Mini Mini-THON!  We are proud to ad our total to the high school Mini-THON in March.  This event raises money for Four diamonds which aims to conquer childhood cancer.  Thank you  to all of our families who donated and to the wonderful high school students who organized our event.  Our students showed great examples of Drrragon's Pride and will be rewarded with an outside lunch and dance party soon!

AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK

This week is American Education Week and we look forward to your visits!  To help us in the office we would like to share these quick suggestions and procedures:
1. Visitation dates are November 7, 8, and 9 from 9:15 am to 3:15 pm;  Kindergarten visits are from 9:15 am to 11:15 am and 1:15 pm to 3:15 pm.
2. All visitors to the school need to have a visitor badge printed in the office.  T o help alleviate congestion we have created an online sign up sheet (CLICK HERE) if you would like to pre-register and have a badge pre-printed for your.  We will pull the sign up sheet at 8:00 am on the day of the visit.  After that time you will need to stop in the office and have a badge printed.
3. Please limit your visit to 30 minutes to accommodate other visitors.
4. Please refrain from bringing siblings to the school during your visit.
5. Please remain quiet and silence your cell phone so as to not disrupt classroom instruction.
6. If you plan to stay for lunch please send a note to the teacher in the morning that you are visiting with your lunch choice if you are buying (click here for the lunch menu).
7. Upon your exit, please leave your visitor badge in the lobby on the sign out sheet and feel free to leave any comments about your visit in our comment book.

ART FROM THE HEART

Friday is the last day to order reproductions of the Hampden art projects that our students in Grades 1-5 produced for charity.  Proceeds will be donated on behalf of the Hampden community to the American Red Cross for the hurricane relief efforts in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico.  Order forms can be downloaded here

KINDERGARTEN QUILT
Each year the kindergarten classes do monthly service projects.  This year with the hurricane devastation we decided to do an extra one.  All children in kindergarten made hearts and they were sewn together to make our quilt.  Monies from the raffle will be given to the Red Cross for hurricane relief.  The quilt is displayed in the lobby or can be viewed by clicking here.  Tickets are $1 each and can be purchased in our office.  The drawing will be November 21.  Thanks in advance for your support!

VETERANS DAY ASSEMBLY
We are honored to welcome immediate family members who are veterans on our Hampden Veterans Day Assembly on Friday!  Students are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to celebrate our special guests!
