News from the Nest:
What an awesome visit from the Judy Young, National Award Winning Author! Our students here at Silver Spring loved the opportunity to meet her, hear her read her books and talk about her inspiration which comes from Reading, Imagining and Exploring. If you still would like to purchase a book, forms were sent home in backpacks on Wednesday with directions on how you can place your order. We will also be getting some copies for our school library. Thank you Judy for a wonderful day!
OPERATION GRATITUDE
Help us share the Fall season with our Troops!
We Want Your Candy, Wondering what you’re going to do with all of your seasonal candy? Want to stay healthy and cut back on eating sugar?
The students at Silver Spring Elementary, together with Operation Gratitude, are collecting candy to send to Deployed Troops and First Responders. Give a sweet treat to our Heroes overseas and here at home!
All candy can be brought to school beginning on Monday October 30th and continuing until Friday, November 3rd. The candy can be placed in the boxes in the lobby.
Silver Spring will ship the candy to our troops!
