Published on Oct 26, 2017 09:25

Attention parents of students in 8th grade:

The Cumberland Valley High School Art Department will host Creative Careers Night at CV High School on November 14, 2017.

Beginning at 6:15 p.m. in room 176, Eric Kaster will speak specifically about the College for Creative Studies.

Beginning at 7:10 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, Atomic Design’s Tricia Fackler will talk about her firm’s creative work and the traits they look for in individuals when hiring for their various jobs. Mr. Kaster will then speak in general about the paths that students may take to prepare for a creative career, the kinds of schools in which students attend, and admissions requirements.

Also during the program, Art Department Chair Mr. Paul Nagle will highlight two creative career examples by sharing Graphic Designer Eddie Kihm's work for Under Armor and Pantheon Skateboards. The other featured example is Cumberland Valley's own Eric Leighton, who works in User Experience for DigitasLBi in Brooklyn, NY developing apps and online experiences for a variety of corporate clients worldwide.

The program is geared toward students in grades 8 through 12 and their parents.
