October 18, 2017 - It is a great week to be a Sporting Hill Bulldog!

Race for Education THANK YOU!!  Thank you for all your help in making our Race for Education fundraiser a great success!  We met all our goals...look at all the fun we will be having on Friday, October 20th:
Teachers will be dressed silly because we raised $5000!
All students will get a smoothie at lunch because we raised $10,000!
All students will get to have Silly String Fun at recess because we raised $15,000!
AND we will purchase Cardio, Coding, and Creativity items for all students to use at school because we raised $20,000!

If you are going to join in on the fun, please
fill out this form, so we can have your badges printed in advance.

In addition, PTO is still looking for a few volunteers to make this a fun day for our students.  The event takes place during the school day on Friday 10/20.  If you have not already done so, please visit www.timetosignup.com/sphpto to see how you can help.

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is the nationally recognized anti-drug effort that delivers one of the most important messages students will ever receive: “That students have a choice to live a drug-free life.”

Students will learn that drugs are chemicals that change the way your body works.  Many drugs, or medicines, are good for you when you need them.  But there are many other drugs that are illegal or can make you sick if you don’t take them properly.  Students will complete a lesson that teaches them about drug safety.

The following is the schedule of spirit days for our RED RIBBON WEEK.

Monday “We Turn Our Backs On Drugs”

Wear your shirt backwards.

Tuesday “Follow Your Dreams, Don’t Do Drugs”.

Wear your favorite pair of pajamas.

Wednesday “Put a Cap on Drugs”.

Wear your favorite hat to school.

Thursday “Don’t Get Tied Up in Drugs”

Wear neckties, hair ties, tie dye shirts, or just tie your shoes.

Friday “We Aren’t Falling Into Drugs”

Wear Fall colors for the Fall Festival

Weather Changes

Please send coats, jackets, or sweatshirts to school with your child.  The weather is changing, however we will still go out to recess until the windchill is 17 degrees or below.  It is important to us that students are comfortable when they are outside playing.  If your child needs a coat, jacket, or sweatshirt please email Mrs. Bushey, our school counselor:  [email protected].

PTO Meeting

Please join us for our October PTO Meeting on Thursday 10/19 at 7:00 pm.  We’ll provide you with the most up to date info on our Race for Education Fundraiser and discuss some of our upcoming events.  If you have anything that you would like to add to the agenda for this meeting, please email Sarah at [email protected]
