Roadwork in area of CVHS

Roadwork in area of CVHS
Posted on 04/26/2019
Dear Cumberland Valley families:

We have been made aware that PennDOT plans to begin repairs and resurfacing of a 2-mile section of the Carlisle Pike/Rt. 11 in the area of Cumberland Valley High School. Work will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 29, and is expected to last through the summer. Repairs and resurfacing will run along Rt. 11 from Dapp Lane (beside the CV High School football stadium) through the Village of Hogestown to the intersection with Route 114 in Silver Spring Township.

Work will require lane shifts and restrictions. However, PennDOT indicates that the contractor will not restrict travel lanes on any day between 6 and 8:30 a.m. or 3:30 and 6 p.m.

While it is not yet known what travel impacts this roadwork might have on our buses that traverse this area, we would kindly ask that you prepare for potential delays through the remainder of the school year. As a reminder, many of our buses that transport secondary students are the same buses that return to transport elementary students. Therefore, delays of secondary runs will also impact elementary runs. Please also plan your schedule accordingly should you need to access campus during the school day.

Please click here to read the official press release that has been issued by PennDOT regarding this work.

Thank you.
