(September 11, 2020) - At its meeting on Monday, Cumberland Valley School District’s Board of School Directors is expected to take action on an administrative recommendation to appoint Dr. Nicole Malinoski as the new principal of Cumberland Valley High School. Dr. Malinoski replaces Dr. Mark Blanchard, who was appointed in July to the position of Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education within the District.

Dr. Malinoski currently serves as the principal of Cedar Crest High School in Cornwall-Lebanon School District.

"I am humbled to accept the invitation to serve as principal at Cumberland Valley High School. You will find I am a student-centered leader who strives to ensure that every student is given an exceptional educational experience where individual potential and emotional wellness are top priorities,” said Dr. Malinoski. “Working with Cumberland Valley and leading this community in this capacity is truly an honor."

Dr. Malinoski brings to CV many years of experience in a variety of educational positions. In addition to her seven-year tenure as principal, she has also served as an assistant principal, technology coordinator, and math and computer science teacher, all with Cornwall-Lebanon School District.

Dr. Blanchard said recently that it’s an honor to welcome Dr. Malinoski into our school community. He added that, in a crowd of very distinguished candidates, she quickly rose to the top.

“Dr. Malinoski has proven to be a transformative leader as a building principal. With the ever changing nature of public education and the needs of our students and community, Dr. Malinoski’s work shows an ability to lead effectively from the front with student needs as the foremost priority,” said Dr. Blanchard.

Dr. Malinoski received her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management from Drexel University, her master’s in Instructional Technology from Wilkes University, and her bachelor’s in Secondary Education - Mathematics from Bloomsburg University. Additionally, she has had a variety of specialty educational trainings in content areas including ALICE safe schools, learning-focused schools, data analysis and course design, educator effectiveness, and comprehensive planning.

Pending board approval, it is anticipated that Dr. Malinoski will begin her transition to Cumberland Valley in the fall.
